ABOUT PATEN LOCKE
Paten Robert Locke was born August 25, 1974 in Boston, MA as the first born of Cheryl and Ron Locke. He passed at his home in Jacksonville, FL on August 2, 2019 at the age of 44 from aggressive stage IV lung cancer as loved ones and dear friends surrounded him in his last days. He is survived by his daughter, Asha Locke.
Paten Locke, aka, P. Locke aka DJ Therapy aka The General aka Boris Ortiz, was a student and practitioner of Hip hop culture and a highly accomplished triple-threat - DJ/Producer/MC. Paten was a prolific creator and world renowned record collector & musicologist. Aside from having a robust and prolific solo career, he was known to collaborate with many others in Jacksonville and beyond, including Willie Evans Jr., J-One-Da & DJ Basic and their group, Asamov; Jay Myztroh and their group, Stono Echo, Batsauce and Lady Daisey and their group, The Smile Rays, Arsun Fist and Stillwater and their group, Steam Mechanics, The Perceptionists with Akrobatik and Mr Lif, Edan and Dillon Maurer with whom he founded FULL PLATE.
